Balayage, Highlights & Hair Color: A Women's Guide for F-11 Islamabad

Colour, Without the Confusion

Balayage, foil highlights, cap highlights, ombré, full colour — colour terminology has multiplied in the last decade. This guide walks through what's on LaSpada's women's menu, what each technique actually does, and how to know which one to ask for.

Balayage

Balayage is a hand-painting technique. Instead of applying lightener in foils, the colourist sweeps it onto sections of hair with a brush, creating a soft, natural transition from a darker root to lighter ends. Because it grows out gradually, balayage is the lowest-maintenance colour service we offer — most clients return only every 4–6 months.

  • Best for: anyone wanting brightness without a hard line at the roots.
  • Length pricing: short PKR 15,990 / medium PKR 18,990 / long PKR 21,990.
  • Maintenance: low. Sulfate-free shampoo and a once-monthly toner refresh.

Foil Highlights

Foil highlights are precise, structured pieces of colour created by isolating sections of hair in foil while lightener processes. The result is more uniform than balayage and brighter overall — closer to a "highlighted" look in the traditional sense.

  • Best for: brighter overall lift, structured stripes, or covering greys with brightness.
  • Length pricing: short PKR 15,500 / medium PKR 17,500 / long PKR 19,500.
  • Maintenance: medium. Touch-ups every 8–12 weeks to soften regrowth.

Cap Highlights

Cap highlights use a perforated cap and a hook to pull individual strands through. It's a classic, more affordable technique that suits short to medium hair particularly well, and produces a fine, evenly distributed highlight pattern.

  • Best for: shorter hair, fine highlights, lower-cost option.
  • Length pricing: short PKR 12,990 / medium PKR 15,700 / long PKR 16,990.
  • Maintenance: medium. Touch-ups every 8–12 weeks.

Full Hair Dye

Full hair dye replaces your existing colour from root to tip with a new shade. It's the most dramatic single-session change you can book — a true colour reset.

  • Best for: a full colour change, deep grey coverage, going darker or much lighter overall.
  • Length pricing: short PKR 14,990 / medium PKR 19,990 / long PKR 24,990.
  • Maintenance: high if going lighter than your natural shade. Root touch-ups every 4–6 weeks.

Supporting Services

Two services pair well with any of the above:

  • Protein Repair Treatment (PKR 7,999) — recommended after any lightening service to rebuild structure.
  • Root Touch-Up application charges (PKR 2,500) — for between-visit upkeep.

For application-only colour where you bring your own product, application charges are PKR 6,999.

How to Choose

If you want a low-maintenance natural look — pick balayage. If you want maximum brightness or grey coverage — foil highlights or full dye. If you have shorter hair or are colour-curious without committing to a higher price — cap highlights. If you want a complete reset — full hair dye.

The honest version of this advice happens at the chair. Bring a few reference photos when you come in, and the colourist will pick the technique that matches the look you're showing rather than the one with the longest name.
